From still ponds to your morning bowl.
Makhana begins underwater, in the shallow ponds and wetlands scattered across Bihar, where the fox nut plant has been cultivated for generations. It's a slow, patient crop — harvested by hand, sun-dried, then roasted until the shell cracks and the seed inside puffs into the light, crisp bite people recognise.
White Velvet Makhana is owned and run by Brothers Enterprises, based in Muzaffarpur, with our processing plant in Hajipur, Vaishali. We stay close to that process on purpose: fewer hands between the pond and the pack means better control over size, colour and crunch.
